How they work.......
Any member can call a Buddy Tournament on any day or weekend on any body of water not conflicting with our regular Tournament schedule dates. He can ask any member to be his partner or a wife or child to make up that days Team.
The non-boater partner is expected to share half the cost of the days trip,
gas- tolls - launch fees -etc. (usually about $30 for local trips .....,
Always ask if that is enough.)
The Tournament terms ...
The Team calling the Buddy event gets to set the terms and cost.
Big Fish Tournament ....
The biggest fish brought back to the starting point at a set time wins.
This tournament works well for singles or if you should partner with you wife or child.
Biggest single limit ....
Here you weigh in the combined best single limit of the team.
Costs...
Are wide open but usually $20 per man is fairly standard.
Remember it's not about money as much as about Bragging Rights.
Weigh in.......
Is normally held on the water in front of the starting location .
Hand held scale and your weigh-in bag usally does the trick.
Very informal and low key.
Tradition .......,
is to go for a beer and sandwich at a local spot afterwards.
These Mini Tournaments are a blast and not to be taken to seriously.
It is where we get to teach and learn from one another,
and enjoy a casual day on the water with a Buddy.
